I'm going to Portsmouth at the weekend and was hoping to get a nice adult night out.

Can anyone recommend a good restaurant please? Totally open on what type.

Whereabouts in Portsmouth? I’m asking because we often go there, but stay in Southsea.

Hezz · 25/05/2021 21:08

We are near the dockyard but love Southsea too so can go there if there's something good! Thank you

Ok Algarve Grill is fab in Southsea but there’s also a lovely restaurant in Old Portsmouth which is probably nearer. Let me just check the name.

Also agora in Southsea is good Turkish food.

Lots of restaurants in Gunwarf Quays overlooking the harbour.

Abarbistro Old Portsmouth. Have fun!

Gunwarf quay has lots or if you have a car there is a selection in Port Solent and also Southsea.

If you are staying near the dockyard then gunwharf quays. If you fancy a walk into old portsmouth then Abarbistro. Stroll down the seafront in Southsea & there is the Briny.

Highly recommend cocktails at the slug and lettuce at gunwharf quays overlooking the harbour. Lovely on a summer evening which we’re finally hopefully getting! ☺️

Thank you I'm checking these all out now.

Not a restaurant, but try the southsea beach cafe ( especially breakfast)

If you like Japanese then Sakura in Albert Road is amazing. Also Sant Yago for tapas and cocktails. Soprano's do fantastic Italian food. But if you fancy a great burger and dirty fries - 7 Bone. With any of these you can't go wrong. I guess it depends on what you want to eat. Portsmouth has some really great restaurants.

@dingit we will definitely be having breakfast at the beach cafe, we love it there.

I've never had Japanese but that sounds interesting too.
