Would autism diagnosis as an adult affect existing life insurance?

Bit of a random one, but I struggled to get life insurance due to previous mental health issues. Finally succeeded and got a good policy that didn't cost an arm and a leg, about 5 years ago now.

Anyway I have recently been referred for an autism assessment but have had a horrible thought - could it affect the life insurance I took out? Because if I am indeed autistic, then I always would have been so it would be a pre existing condition. Now wondering whether to go ahead with the assessment, although I'm worried that even the referral could be a problem now it's on my medical record... Does anyone know?

No it won’t affect an existing policy that is already in force. It may affect any new applications that you make in the future but not the one you already have as long as you keep the current policy going.
