25 weeks - still have vegetable aversion!

Hiya I am 25 +4. Since the beginning of my pregnancy I have had an aversion to vegetables. I can eat mountains of fruit! Peppers. I just cannot stomach vegetables. I would say I've managed them 2-3 times a week, including lots whizzed up in bolognase or stuffed peppers. I know I'm eating fruit but I obviously don't want to go nuts due to the sugar in it. Is this really going to affect my baby? I've made myself a salad tonight for the first time since I was about 8 weeks and I'm struggling. Coating it in salad cream. I still take my pregancare max everyday and I'm on iron tablets as I was 102 under the 105. My diet is generally well balanced otherwise. Can anyone reassure me?! I also want her to like veg when she's here. I used to love it!

Hi, I wouldn't think it would hurt, especially if you are plenty before, and you're currently eating fruit and other good things, and also taking vitamins. I had this too for much of pregnancy, really weird, they all tasted so disgusting for weeks and weeks. The smell and the thought of any vegetable made me feel ill, the taste was bitter and beyond revolting. It was really upsetting at the time! Loved veg before, love it again now, it was just completely foul for much of my pregnancy both times. And my kids both eat veg now. Don't worry and don't feel guilty!

Could you manage soup? But if not, don't worry - she'll take what she needs, and you'll be fine. I had major food aversions and couldn't stomach anything green or eggs for most of my pregnancy. (Eggs lasted a little while after too, it was very weird.) I now have a healthy two year old who likes most food.

Thanks everyone, this is reassuring. I'm trying my best to eat them but don't find it easy.

I’m with you. I’ve gone off fizzy drinks (including water!), any kind of dessert, biscuit, chocolate... it’s so miserable! I’m 18 weeks so imagine that’s it for the long run... 😱

I only eat white carbs, fruit and ham and chicken when I was pregnant both times. Both babies were a good weight and fine

I was the same with my first pregnancy- the sight of a carrot made me heave! I even had to cancel our veg box. Have a healthy 11 year old now though. She likes vegetables.

I'm totally off meat and fish still and couldn't stomach veggies until about 15 weeks. I'm 18 weeks now.

I think it's honestly fine though, baby will get what you need and you're taking a supplement. People get through pregnancy with HG and have healthy babies, and you're still eating plenty of other things.
