Restaurants in Cambridge

Anyone know any fabulous restaurants in Cambridge for a 10 year anniversary? Would love somewhere that's a really special vibe as well as good food. Thinking something like Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Oxford.
Thanks!

Midsummer House - 2 Michelin Stars would be my first port of call.

Not local to Cambridge, but it's the top place I know there.

The Ivy has just opened a branch in Cam!

Muddydoor · 25/05/2021 19:36

I was totally going to say Midsummer House!

Ostryga · 25/05/2021 19:41

Yes Midsummer House! It’s delicious and it just gets better. You won’t regret it.

Midsummer House has always had a helluva waiting list for bookings. I'd book up quick if you fancy there, I suspect it'll be booked in advance for months.

Ahh Midsummer is completely sold out for our date! If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know Smile

If you can’t get into midsummer house perhaps mjp in general ditton? Not as fancy as a setting but the food is great.

Restaurant 22 on Chesterton Road is probably the 'next best thing' to Midsummer House and a lot less pretentious.

Our special treat restaurant was usually the Peking seriously good proper Chinese food though its current premises are a bit soulless.

The Pint Shop in the town centre is pretty good if you want very superior gastropub type fare.

I really like Parker's Tavern. It's not as expensive or posh as Midsummer's House but I've never had a duff meal (always delicious) and the service is great. You could stay the night?

P.s. wonderful cocktails.

Cotto at the Gonville Hotel is meant to be a fine dining sort of place.
Trinity is also meant to have a similar vibe.

I really like The Oak Bistro (French). Very intimate.
We also like Bedouin which is North African food in a North African/Middle Eastern setting.

Seconding Parker's Tavern. I really, really dislike Midsummer's House. We had really unpleasantly overbearing service there.

BigPyjamas · 26/05/2021 19:22

Cotto has sadly shut down, such a shame as it was excellent.

Parker's Tavern is good.

BigPyjamas · 26/05/2021 19:23

Trinity is also a decent option if you're after something tasty but not too stuffy.

Sloth66 · 26/05/2021 19:38

Parker’s Tavern or The Ivy

Another recommendation for MJP at The Shepards
