I recently restarted my very small business selling paper art and am trying to kickstart my Facebook page - I had about 600 page likes / followers many of whom were quite active, but then I had twins, both have disabilities so I’ve basically had 4 years of no activity so I’m starting from scratch basically and my reach is shocking.
I was just starting to make a bit of headway and ran a couple of ads. Next thing I know my page is inundated with what are obviously fake accounts - all profiles with little on them from random countries. Each day I’m having to go in and ban them all as I’m worried it’s going to damage my reach even more. There’s about 50 a day coming through! Clearly my page has wound up on a list somewhere that click farms are using to legitimise accounts.
Is there anything I can do about this to prevent it? Feel like I’m banging my head against a wall with bloody Facebook but I used to get a lot of traffic and business that way so I know I need to persevere!
