Does anyone who works in beauty know why you can't use depilatory cream on face?

I know there are separate creams that are specifically for facial hair but I don't really want to have to buy two products. My regular tube of veet says do not use on face. I used it anyway and it was fine. So just wondered what the reasoning was for separate creams. Is it just a marketing ploy or is it actually unsafe?

I use my regular veet on my tache with no ill effects

I do this too Grin Don't have sensitive skin though, or react to any products generally. Would do a patch test first maybe?

I did it once and had absolutely no reaction, no redness or anything. Also don't have particularly sensitive skin. I'm not worried if there's just a chance it will feel a bit sore. As long as there's no major risk. Think I'll carry on! Grin
