4 weeks for a refund can anyone beat that?

Returned a parcel to Swarovski a week ago, didn’t hear from them so tracked the parcel which still says it’s on its way. Phoned them up to be told it can take 4 weeks! It was only being returned to a city in England, I could have actually walked there faster. Have I been spoilt by the likes of Amazon who do things instantly or at least within a week or two?

Can anyone beat that?

We had a hotel room booked through Holiday Inn in Amsterdam last August. Obviously didn’t get to go, but when we went to cancel (two weeks before our stay) we found out the hotel was closed due to Covid and hadn’t told us.

We’re still waiting for our refund. Apparently because they’re a franchise and the hotel is independently owned, Holiday Inn can’t give us back the money we paid them through their corporate website…

Apparently it might reopen next month and we can request our money back then.

We’re also trying to do a chargeback on the card but it’s complicated as we booked so far in advance.

2 months for a refund from Mr Porter last year. And then they refunded me the wrong amount (less). Grrrr took me nearly three months to get my money back and it wasn't small change!

Anyone who used Ryanair last year.

Insidelaurashead · 25/05/2021 13:22

I was just coming on to say Ryanair, I see the PP has also mentioned them. A year, for my refund. Paid for my haircut last weekend though, so that was nice

Argos too money off a voucher in February, I got the money back last week. I wanted to buy something via the app and it took the money off but didn’t generate a code to pick it up. Emailed, phoned them several times. Had an online chat and they sorted it via head office.

Anyone who planned to use virgin last year... disgusting company made people wait months (120 days+) for refunds of tens of thousands of pounds

Hellocatshome · 25/05/2021 13:38

I don’t know whether they had a glitch in the system, as I had a similar issue where no code was generated. Got there eventually.

Gosh so many affected by the long hotel/airline refunds.

@Wincarnis looks like you’re leading with two years. Why so long?

Various tours and events were postponed last year due to covid, some tickets reallocated to dates in 2021 and beyond...and some have not been rescheduled at all. Their policy on the non rescheduled dates (not in the uk) is to give you a refund 24 months after date of original concert....so will get first refund in March 2022.
