I've been really enjoying adult painting by numbers. I've got loads of the paint left over so thought I'd have a go at doing a painting of my own. I say 'of my own' but I've actually copied it from an actual artists piece of work. Anyway, I'm rather chuffed with it. I've got no one to show in real life. DH not particularly interested and I'd feel bit of a knob sending a picture of it to anyone so I hope you don't mind me posting it here. This is the first painting I've ever done. Slightly embarrassed to admit that I've framed it! I've just put it in the en suit loo.

Can I show you all my first ever painting please?

I have been painting for many years and I can tell you have a very good eye for it. If you keep at it you will get to a point where you can apply the styles and techniques you see in others paintings, to a photograph that you have taken, and then you have your very own original piece. At this level of skill, you could be selling within a year of consistent practice. Very well done OP x

So lovely OP. It’s beautiful and makes me feel really calm, sounds silly but from your posts you sound grounded and calm too!

SappysCurry · 24/05/2021 21:49

I thought it looked like Scotland
They’re both lovely
Yours looks more - ‘relaxed’ than the original especially in the sky
That’s a compliment, the sky is ‘blocky’ on the original

Boood · 25/05/2021 14:17

That’s really good. I was also inspired to try proper painting after doing a few by numbers. Unfortunately I’m not very good at it and after I did one tree I was pleased with followed by a crap one I stopped, in case I spoiled the good one with more crap Hmm

AlmostSummer21 · 25/05/2021 14:28

I really like it. It's very restful and draws you in, making you want to be there!

(I definitely prefer it to the original.)

LimitIsUp · 26/05/2021 11:09
