Evening all, we have a holiday cottage booked in this area for August and wondering if anyone has any tips/ideas for things to do in the area with a 2 year old? Will have a car with us and are prepared to drive an hour or so for activities.

Thanks.

Bolton Abbey is good and it has a little beach area. It's ten mins in the car from Skipton. On the way ,there is also Billy Bob's ice cream parlour that has play areas.

Billy bobs is fantastic. American style diner, family friendly, and fab indoor and outdoor play areas. Think you have to book play slots a couple of days in advance at the moment.
Bolton abbey is a great day out. Quite a decent walk by both sides of the river and lots of places to paddle up at the abbey end.

There is a farm next to Bolton Abbey too: Hesketh Farm and in the other direction towards Colne there is Thornton Hall Farm in Thornton in Craven.

Billy Bob’s, Thornton Hall Farm, Bolton Abbey, Clapham has a nice play park and a trail to walk up, Settle should have the flowerpot festival on then.

Thank you all so much! You definitely get the best suggestions here rather than Google 😊

Hesketh farm, Bolton Abbey and Billy Bob’s parlour are all great!

Aireville park in Skipton has a great play area, bike/ scooter track and nice swimming pool (you need to book a swim session).

If your two year old like trains then there is also the Bolton Abbey and Embsay steam railway, stations at both places. Of you look on their website, they have events throughout the year with regular train trips throughout summer.

My 2 year old is absolutely train obsessed! Brilliant! Thanks so much everyone 😊

Ilkley isn’t far away either and has a nice play park by the river and is a lovely town for a mooch round!

PaperMonster · 23/05/2021 21:27

Don’t forget the castle in Clitheroe! Great for exploring and there’s the playpark too.

Definitely Embsay, forgot about that. As we were driving past Settle today there was a proper old fashioned train going past!

Settle swimming pool does great family swim sessions
Agree with Flowerpot Festival
Giggleswick playground must be one of the most scenic in the UK!
