What have I done to my finger?

This afternoon I lifted the hoover up and felt a sharp ping in my little finger and now I have a bruise on my knuckle. (I didn’t actually bang my finger)
This is the third time I’ve had a bruised knuckle, although the other times the bruise just appeared for no reason 🤷‍♀️ What am I doing to myself?

I realise this is extremely trivial, just wondering what it is!

It's a burst blood vessel, I get them a lot. Hurts like hell for a few minutes then you get a bruise that only lasts a day or two.

MamaWeasel · 23/05/2021 18:06

No idea but it looks painful!

Oooh I have no idea OP but that is quite a bruise considering you didn't actually bump it! How weird. I would want to know too!! Hopefully someone clever will be along soon....

PoorlyFinger · 23/05/2021 18:14

I’m guessing it’s nothing to be alarmed about 1000glitterydicks even if it keeps happening?
Weirdly it’s not painful at all!

That’s unusual. I’d probably US that just to see if there’s an underlying thing causing that. Take photos because no-ones going to believe you Grin

Me too.... It'll go down soon, and just be a bit bruised looking

I would guess Achenbach's syndrome (paroxysmal finger haematoma). Totally benign, most common in middle aged women.

I'd never heard of this before. Turns out it's a thing, there's a thread on the menopause matters website.

Thanks all, much appreciated.

Second Achenbach’s syndrome!

Chocs44 · 23/05/2021 22:12

Definitely Achenbach's syndrome. Happens to me a lot. Last time the bruise spread all down my hand and but as you say it doesn't hurt at all! Luckily it's not serious or dangerous just annoying and a bit strange!!
