I know this is in the wrong section, but it's the place I know has a lot of traffic and I (or rather my Mum) really need some advice.
My Dad had bladder cancer 26yrs ago, he had his bladder and a kidney removed and now has a stoma. It's all worked fine until very recently, but now his stoma leaks frequently, he is 83. My Mum is worn out with changing the bed every night and all the washing etc. He has a stoma nurse and is waiting to see a dermatologist, as he had problems with sores around his uristomy, although it has nearly healed now. He has new stoma bags, the previous ones needed to be applied with a gluey paste, the new ones are self adhesive.
Does anyone have any advice on how to stop the leaks? He is wary of seeing the stoma nurse as she is in a hospital in a Covid hotspot and appointments are difficult to come by, he only has a nurse as I took him and Mum to A&E and left him there after constant bleeding from his stoma was leaving him anaemic and no one would do anything.
I don't live near to him and haven't seen him for a year now, so it's really difficult to help and my parents are really bad at asking for help.
