Has anybody else noticed this? Every time I take my baby for a walk we see rats. It’s a bit unnerving - wondering if just my area?

Not just you. We had rats in our house a couple of months ago 🤢🤢 south east London

Yes it was! We never actually saw anything - just noticed bread and fruit being knawed on 🤢
We got pest control in and they sorted it fairly quickly - he said they have been inundated lately with rat problems!

Rats are every where Andy always have been

Found a rat in our garage a few weeks ago 😣

Yes, we went for a walk in two different south east London parks a couple of weekends ago and saw several rats by the ponds/ lake in both locations when we rarely see them normally.

there are rats in the large park about 100m from my house. Sometimes one of my cats brings me one back, still alive. We now have a dedicated Rat Tupperware in the garden for trapping them and taking them back from whence they came.

AmIbeingTHATparent · 22/05/2021 17:33

Yep! My cat caught five small ones in just one night. And very kindly piled them all up by the back door!

Perhaps they’re going further afield to find food, as lockdown has shut a number of eating establishment that the previously ate out of bins at or whatever!

They breed rapidly so if they don’t get culled soon there will likely be an epidemic. Shock

Yes they have always been everywhere. They clean up after the mess us humans leave behind.

Remember all the picnics, bbqs etc when loads of people left piles of crap behind?
Hardly surprising that rats were having lovely parties with the remains no doubt.

We've seen one at the end of our garden cleaning up the bits of food that the birds drop. We have a field opposite us and woods behind, plenty in there.

They’re just more brave. Is it because they’re starving? I had a bbq and one popped it’s head out and tried to grab something off it!! I’ve never screamed so loudly
