Any legoland hotels which are as exciting as the official one??

So we had to cancel our legoland holiday last year, and hope to book for this year instead.
We were booked for the Legoland Hotel for novelty value, but the prices this year are understandably higher.
IS it worth the extra money (lego rooms, gate straight into the park, early entry into the park), or is there a similar hotel nearby that also has some decent novelty value?
We live in Scotland, so this is a big event for us, as opposed to something we could do annually

Thanks for info 💕

Not answering your question but as we knew it was going to be a one off, we went for the hotel. It did make it special. Food was awful mind, but tbh its aimed at the kids!

I have stayed in the original lego land hotel (off season when park closed). The themed room was fine - the kids bunkbed area was good and it had its own TV in the wall but the rest was just ok. The brick pits were good. The restaurant was chaotic. The facilities are average. I would check in with what covid measure have been out in place as you might find that the pits have been removed and other changes too. In honesty I would book another hotel locally and spend your cash in the park on treats, lego, photos or even past passes. That will make the trip. You will be knackered by the end if the day and just want to lay your head down. I'd opt for a hotel with a pool if you can. Ps if you are coming all this way and have a car also check out Paultons Park as you could base yourself between the two and have a real blast.

No hotel compares to the Legoland Hotel in terms of the fun factor. The most recent time we went, we stayed at Holiday Inn Maidenhead which worked out a lot cheaper and my DC still had great fun in the indoor pool www.legolandholidays.co.uk/legoland-windsor-hotels/holiday-inn-maidenhead-windsor.html

Nothing compares to it, it is just magic for kids at the Lego hotel. If you stay eat at the castle hotel the food is so much better. The food in the original hotel is beyond awful and day light robbery.
It is also great getting into the park early. The other thing we found is it is quite overwhelming in the park and it was lovely to go back to the hotel at lunch time and grab a pizza there with less people and even a glass of wine for the grown ups made the afternoon a lot more bearable.

Honestly for one off value go for the hotel. We just stayed at the Castle Hotel and the themed rooms are just not like anything else. The early entry was ok but actually only 15min so didn't gain much. Did mean we were near the Deep sea ride early though which was good as it's quite popular.

The big lego pits in the lobbies are not in use but you still get a box of lego in your room (They are collected and quarantined each morning). And you get the treasure hunt. The main hotel still has meet and greet (behind a rope) in the evening.

You need ro reserve dinner and breakfast slots separately from your booking and reserve the pool if you want to swim. With the restaurant, it is worth going on to the restaurant page on the website and reserving a few weeks in advance- the email links to reserve only come out With a week to go by which time many slots are gone.

I actually thought that the dinner at the main hotel was not that bad! It was a three course set menu to choose from. And service was fairly efficient (got slower around dessert but starter was efficient). The Castle restaurant had fewer options (none of which we liked) for more money so worth looking at menu online. Breakfast in the Castle Hotel was ok - standard continental or full English (or veggie vegan alternative) included or you can pay £2 to order a special breakfast (ie waffles).

Copid Beech hotel is fab. Excellent family rooms that have a very thick dividing curtain so it's like they have their own room.

Most amazing fish tank - I can't even explain it. But it continues up each floor.

Love Lego land. Hope you have a ball. Make sure you see the live pirate show!
