Can't afford St Ives so what about Penzance.

We are thinking of going to Cornwall in September hopefully covid allows.
We have been to St Ives before for a day but the cost to stay is very expensive compared to Penzance.
We will have a car so we can travel around.
Is there anywhere near we should visit.
Is Falmouth worth visiting.

Have a look at Carbis Bay! And you can walk to St Ives from there

Carbis Bay is lovely although maybe £££ after the G7 is held there. Penzance isn't the greatest but if it gets you here!

Lots to do once here, especially if weather is decent.

St Ives, Sennen Cove, Truro, Falmouth, Portreath all within 45 minutes by car if you're in Penzance, I'd say go for it if cost is a decider for you.

Falmouth is a vibrant place with a number of nice cafes, good walks along beach too, I'd say definitely worth an afternoon/evening.

Minack, St Michael's Mount, the geothermal pool, day trip to Scillies if you have sea legs, mining Coast, lots of art galleries & things, plenty of beaches & villages in reach.
Penzance itself can be rough in places, but I'd say worth it.
