ScabberPig · 22/05/2021 07:47

Getting it in a month's time but from Monday I am hitting the gym and will soon be on a liquid diet for prep.

So I'm giving my self this weekend to have a feast.

What would you have?

@crossstitchingnana

This is such an unhealthy attitude to have.
OK :) Thanks for your input.

Nonsense. Having a big, delicious elaborate meal to mark a significant event is perfectly fine and normal.

She's never ever going to be able to eat like this again. A lifetime of healthy eating from next month. It's ok to have a finale.

To be fair it is unhealthy for me, I really want all the things listed here now Grin

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 22/05/2021 10:28

To add - cultures all over the world take pride in, share and celebrate food. Is say it's far more unhealthy to be frightened of unclenching for even one weekend.

MintyCedric · 22/05/2021 10:30

Chinese or Indian blowout
Roast dinner with all the trimmings followed by that sticky toffee pudding
Huge plate of nachos with spicy chicken

MintyCedric · 22/05/2021 10:31

Oh and good luck!

murbblurb · 22/05/2021 10:32

I don't get it. You've lost 16lb already.why not just continue what you are doing, have the occasional big meal and cancel the operation?

The idea that healthy food is dull food is most disturbing. Almost all food is healthy - diet shakes, diet meals, cereal bars and smoothies aren't but they are crap, not food.

Athelwulf · 22/05/2021 10:38

@murbblurb perhaps OP wants the thing that actually has decent evidence for improving her lifetime health, rather than continuing on a path that doesn't? Good luck, OP, enjoy your last hurrah!

A family member has a gastric sleeve, it’s not changed her attitude towards food. She still eats badly, but now throws up after a few mouthfuls then carries on eating!

Babymeanswashing · 22/05/2021 10:49

What was the point of that anecdote funky?

Twinkie01 · 22/05/2021 10:50

Garlic mushrooms on brioche toast then massive steak, sweet potato wedges and green beans with a huge dollop of garlic mayonnaise

Followed by my body weight in profiteroles.

ScabberPig · 22/05/2021 10:51

Oh dear. Didn't intend this to turn into a nasty thread.

Just wanted to know what your last meals would be.

Sigh.

OP posts:
BlackboardMonitorVimes · 22/05/2021 10:58

Ignore them OP, there are a lot of people who are so scared of putting on weight that they take out their frustrations on anyone who openly enjoys food or is overweight.

Enjoy your last meal and good luck with the operation.

TheQueef · 22/05/2021 10:59

Ignore the critics Scabbers WLS has enough evidence available yet people still love to hate.

Also make the most of cucumber and pickled onions. You won't want those afterwards on repeat for two weeks

Joinedjustforthispost · 22/05/2021 11:07

Write a list of everything you won’t be able to eat or drink after the op permanently like fizzy pop? Certain high fat foods or high sugar products that will be guaranteed to make you get dumping syndrome? Certain texture of foods that may block your stomach like fried eggs, stringy meets like steak , bread ? Pasta? I miss being able to have fizzy pop the most. Do not be tempted to have 1 last meal the night before your op as it will reverse your liver reduction diet and your surgery will be cancelled. All the best op @ScabberPig

VienneseWhirligig · 22/05/2021 11:09

I had a "last supper" of prawn cocktail, belly pork with red cabbage, mash and asparagus, and apple crumble. All my favourites.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 22/05/2021 11:13

I second the bacon sandwich - with brown sauce.

I'd also go with a really good roast dinner with all the trimmings. Lemon torte and ice cream for pud.

Hypie · 22/05/2021 11:16

I also don’t get it, you’ve successfully managed to lose weight and keep it off, why not just keep doing that and not have the op?

Bluntness100 · 22/05/2021 11:18

I think the concern is people are encouraging you to binge and massively over eat unhealthy foods, instead of recognising you need this operation for a reason and must have an unhealthy relationship with food in the first place. You’ve done so so well on your diet, have started making healthy choices, exercising and are on a great path. Yes a last meal is fine, but people shouldn’t be encouraging you to binge as much as you can get down you.
