Infected tooth - travelling on Monday - please help!

I've got an ongoing issue with one of my teeth and have a hospital appointment next month to have it removed. I woke up this morning and the bloody thing is infected again. I'm not currently registered with a NHS dentist (none taking on in my town). Currently on the phone to 111 for an emergency appointment but the thing that worrying me is I'm meant to be driving to the other end of the country on Monday for a family wedding and I can't change it. Any ideas what I can do if I can't find an appointment?

Thank you!

You should be able to phone any dentist out of hours and get their emergency appointment number. Normally this triaged elsewhere anyway. Could you ring around the local dentists and register as a private patient? Obviously it'll cost more but you might get seen quicker.
Clove oil and codeine are good for the pain in the mean time. I really sympathise, anything dental is awful.

Boots and other chemists sell Corsodyl gel. It’s a kind of antiseptic numbing gel. I was given it by my dentist to use until the antibiotics kicked in, when I had an infected tooth.

GPs can prescribe antibiotics in cases like this so get an emergency appointment and get them
To send a prescription to a local chemist.

Thank you. I'm waiting for a call back from 111.

My GP practice won't do anything relating to teeth so no point trying them.

GPs don't do teeth Grin I'm married to one (a GP, not a tooth) and it's a particular bugbear of his!

I've got an appointment for 4:30 today, thankfully, though it means I have to phone in sick to work which I hate doing. (and realistically, I'm not well enough to be there anyway but I still hate it.)

Yep I’d get antibiotics or they might not take the tooth out as the infection can stay on the gun.

Gingigel and corsodyl mouthwash.

Good luck.

Thanks!

I've been dealing with this for a while now and honestly can't wait for the damn thing to be taken out! It had a crown that failed about this time last year and it's been nothing but trouble since.
