What do you think a paracetamol dose is

So. Neither dh or I take many painkillers.

Tonight I had a bad headache so grabbed the box and took two! Dh was appalled and Said. What are you doing. It's one tablet not two.

We can't agree. I think on your normal box of paracetamol the dose is two.

2 lots of 500mg

So two tablets generally

1. But just read the box.

For an adult it's one or two 500mg tablets.

The box is just boots paracetamol and says take 1-2 tablets. He reads that's as one and two in extreme circumstances. I just think standard dose is two

2 is fine. I usually take two tablets for headaches unless it’s a really bad one in which case I take one paracetamol & codeine tablet (but that’s out of personal choice - I could safely take two).

I only ever take one, it's not set in stone you must take 1000mg.

I'd always take 2

If it was a bad headache I'd take 2

Two, four times a day. No more than 8 in 24 hours.
As it will say on the pack,

Its two, thats a standard dose you would get in hospital for instance.

I always take two paracetamol.

If its ibuprofen, I can manage on one.

The pack says 1 or 2
Her dh says 1 is the dose and OP would take 2
Either is fine but I would tend to take 2

I almost always take 2, but i prefer to ride out 'mild' headaches. DH only ever takes one.

Literally everyone I know takes 2 except DS as he’s 12 so he takes 1.

It's 2 unless it's a 1000mg tablet in which case it would be one.

I take 3 ibuprofen sometimes for a bad headache. No point suffering.

If you are going to take it, might as well take a dose that is more likely to work!

I take 1 for a mild headache, 2 for a more severe one. It will say on the box though

Ibuprofen gets me, because that's 2x200mg in the UK. But I moved to Germany and it's sold here in 400mg or 600mg. You can't get it in 200mg. So I always have to look that one up. I take 1x400mg, but DH tends to prefer the 600mg because that's what he gets prescribed every time his shoulder plays up.
