How do I find Child Benefit number?

I don't claim CB as my wage is too high. I'm 99% sure I remembered to register my second child, but not 100%.

How would I find out?! I've never had anything with a child benefit number as I don't claim it. Is there a way of checking?

Thank you. No one available to webchat at the minute. I just wondered if there was somewhere I could log in with my NI number and see if they were linked but can't find anything like that.

Did you try phoning?
They probably won't tell you on the phone but will post the details out.
Have you never had a letter from them?

What happens if you haven’t registered? I’m in the same position, I did get cb with my first dc but not with my second as the rules changed so now worried incase I didn’t register her at all as wasn’t aware that I needed to. I’m now separated from their dad, would it make a difference if he wanted to claim it?

He could put in a claim for the other child. Its always worth making a claim even if you opt out of getting the payment

I don’t mind him having it if he earns under £50k (I have no idea what he earns) if it doesn’t have a negative effect on me as their main parent (they only see him eow). Could him claiming it have a negative effect on me if he wanted to go for more custody in the future? Or anything else?

They should still have your details from your original claim. I'd contact them and add your other child
