DH thought he had bought a kitchen electrical appliance but instead the Braille manual for the appliance arrived in the post today. Hmm Neither of us are blind or can read Braille!

Please help me cheer him up with your purchasing fails.

My garden gnomes were slightly smaller than I expected.

I bought a chair one Saturday evening having spent all afternoon on the beer. Bargain it was, couldn’t believe I’d got one so cheap…until it arrived and I realised it was for a dolls house!

I kept it as an ornament and it’s now known as our PUP, meaning Pissed Up Purchase 😂

A lickimat for the dog turns out it was for Guinea pigs.. could have maybe put 2 bits of kibble in it haha

My son ordered a subscription of big sacks of chicken food !!!! Delivered to my door via Amazon. He was playing hay day on his I pad. First month was ok but once I realised it was a subscription he signed up for not so good! I still laugh about sacks of chicken food on my doorstop! Second month not so funny ! 🤪🤪🤪 x

Brilliant, though @UberMullet! Grin
AtoZed · 21/05/2021 14:32

@UberMullet I've just bought those same gnomes for my herb garden Grin

In April last year when food shop delivery slots were mission impossible to achieve, i manage to bag myself one! The evening before was a lovely warm evening and i was out in the garden drinking wine chatting to our neighbours over the fence. I forgot to edit my order before the 10pm cut off! so the next morning the lovely ASDA man arrived with 3 bottles of gin that id put in my basket to reserve the delivery slot Blush

DP usually does the supermarket shop and one day I asked him to get some bay leaves.

He came home with a bottle of Bailey's. Grin

I wasn't displeased!

I have one click ordering enabled for my kindle…one day I was thinking ‘who would spend £300 on a phone case….oh!’ Managed to cancel!

IHaveBrilloHair · 21/05/2021 14:44

An armchair.

BlueLobelia · 21/05/2021 14:50

Piano.

A Baby Grand.

We don't play. Nor did we have the room.

That was the last time we got shit-faced on rose and went onto ebay I can tell you.

My dh bought a pipe and various loose tobacco pouches late one drunken night/early morning. I was not best pleased. He didn't even smoke, hated it when I smoked! I had to ban him from smoking it outside the back door and he had to go right to the end of the garden as it stank. Thankfully he no longer smokes the thing and gave away the baccy. I'm sure he sometimes sits in his garden office with it in his mouth, pretending.

Mylittleponysuperfan · 21/05/2021 16:07

Not me but my fil (rest his soul)
He’d ordered pile cream but had set up a subscription by mistake so a new tube would arrive every month
We live 200 miles away so he just kept chucking the tubes in a drawer until we could get to them and cancel it for him-he had about 9 tubes by the time we went to see him and mil
I managed to stop it but couldn’t look him in the eye for ages!

TheYearOfSmallThings · 21/05/2021 16:10

A biography of the philosopher Shopenhauer, in German.

I was trying to order The Wonder Boy of Whistle Stop by Fannie Flagg but seemingly there was a glitch in the Amazon matrix.

Blue4YOU · 21/05/2021 16:13

A pvc heavily boned corset. I have no idea why (other than I used to be into goth (well electronic synth pop stuff)... 20 years ago.
I was very drunk at the time and very confused when it arrived

willowmelangell · 22/05/2021 20:19

A spank dress.
I should have checked the picture more carefully. I was sober too!

IHaveBrilloHair · 22/05/2021 20:34

What is a spank dress, also am I going to regret asking?Grin

JustMarriedAndLovingIt · 22/05/2021 21:25

Some beeswax lip balm. I’d been talking about it to DH and all I can think is that Alexa added it to my shopping list and posted it out as I certainly didn’t order it and neither did DH 😆 Lovely surprise when it arrived though.

willowmelangell · 24/05/2021 09:45

@IHaveBrilloHair the back seam is not sewn together. The two sides are held apart with a corset like ribbon criss crossing. The lady's bottom would be on show Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 24/05/2021 09:49

You know I don't think I'll bother buying myself one!

Mycatismadeofstringcheese · 24/05/2021 10:13

H ordered one packet of cleaning sponges. Didn’t realise he’d ordered a wholesale size box.

We don’t need to buy sponges now for about 10 years.
