What do you think?

Eat only home made, hearty veggie soups for three days a week.

Permanent lifestyle choice.

Would you lose weight and keep weight off if you just weren't excessive the other four days?

Depends on the calories, if it was just veg, stock and water, I imagein the calories would be low and that over time this would cause a calorie deficit if you kept your consumption the same as before on the other days. You might end up hungry (or hangry) though. If i restrict too much I end up popping chunks of cathedral cheddar into my mouth because I am hungry and my body needs energy. I am better just keeping a lower CD/maintenance calories over the 7 days of the week.
