Can I request this in confidence (with just HR and obviously IT) being aware?

Can my re use the used unfavourably against me - overlooked for promotions etc?

Can I ask employee to search completed deleted emails?

when you make a SAR, the data protection officer, or whoever you make the request to in your organisation, will ask relevant people for the information, its not a case of IT just trawling emails.

why are you worried that making a SAR could be held against you?
