Noticed lump under arm

Evening,

Today in the shower I noticed a lump under one of my arms. Its soft, not hard. I am hoping it's just fatty tissue as I am overweight. My mind is running all sorts of thoughts. Going to make appointment with the doctor.

Just wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom or has had the same thing.

I feel so scared.

Hand hold, if it helps just remember lumps under arms are almost always nothing to worry about. You're doing the right thing getting it looked at. Be nice to yourself and try to distract yourself from worrying Thanks

I had something similar last year. Under arm, maybe pea sized, soft, moveable.

Doctor said it was a sebaceous cyst.

Get a appointment tomorrow to reassure yourself but try not to worry. Cancer is almost always hard, like gristle.

Thank you both so much for your kindness 💐💖

I will definitely call the doctor tomorrow. I kept busy today now I've stopped my mind is running away with itself and my emotions are all over the place.

Trying to keep calm and think rational/positive thoughts.

I had a lump in my armpit in my late teens. It turned out to be an abscess which they drained and gave me antibiotics for. It was probably caused by an ingrown hair, they said.

Thanks Emmelina, that could be possible as I've been shaving during lockdown. Where I usually get waxed.

Hi OP, have you had the covid vaccine recently? I had glands come up in my neck and under my arm after both vaccines, they stayed for several weeks.
Definitely get it checked out, hope all is ok.

Thank you captain princess, I've not had the vaccine.
