Drunk around a newborn

Does anyone have any stories to share regarding being drunk at home around a baby, and saw it as a wake-up call?
Especially if you were previously quite a heavy drinker? My auntie came back very drunk from drinks, and we didn't realise how drunk she was until we handed her the baby. She is seeing it as a wake-up call to become tee-total but she can't get over this and feels so guilty. She'd appreciate any stories....

Why do you need other peoples stories? Confused

This is her wake up call.

Assuming the baby is hers she needs to refrain from drinking to any extent that may cause harm or neglect to the child. If she needs help to stop, now is the time to access it through her MW/HV.

If it's not her child, then whoever's it is needs to firmly let her know that she will not welcome near the child when she's under the influence of alcohol.

My friends partner was drunk and dropped the baby on wooden floor.
But basically I wouldn’t be handing my baby to anyone even if they’ve had one drink tbh.

Why would you had someone you thought was even a bit drunk a newborn?
