Anyone taken the Kinsey scale test and not scored as ‘straight’ as they thought?

I’m gay and I came out a 5 on the scale, not sure why it wasn’t a 6 seeing as I answered honestly and consider myself exclusively attracted to women. Would love to know how others tested just out of sheer curiosity.

A zero, which doesn’t surprise me at all. I like women as friends, but have never felt anything more physical. I can see a woman is beautiful or a young woman is pretty, but in a detached and objective sort of way.

  1. Not sure if I'm the first guy to answer here. I kind of expected a possible 1 because I don't find the idea of sex with another guy 'disgusting' at all, just holds zero appeal and therefore I answered negative, although even that felt slightly too strong a term.

I scored a 3. I’m asexual and don’t consider myself to be sexually attracted to people of any sex, although I do feel some romantic attraction to both sexes and increasingly more towards women. I tried to answer as honestly as possible but it was difficult as there was no answer for no sexual attraction to either. I have had sex with men in the past but it was done out of a sense of duty and an assumption I was heterosexual rather than because I had sexual feelings towards men. I think the fact I have had sex with men is what skewed me towards the heterosexual side of the scale.

Had a couple of same sex experiences (although many more heterosexual ones) and they feature in fantasies sometimes

I got a 2 - Predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual. I think this is accurate. I definitely fantasise as much about women as men. I’m curious but probably too self conscious to ever do anything.

I got a 2, I would have said I'm a 3 but I was in denial about fancying women until after I was married so never had the opportunity for a same sex encounter. I'm not sure how valid that question about who you've slept with is though, virgins know who they're attracted to and presumably a lot of gay people have slept with the opposite sex while working their sexuality out?

I'm exclusively heterosexual apparently. I can honestly say I have never had the slightest sexual interest in another woman, it hasn't crossed my mind. I like my fellow females though and enjoy being a woman.

Is it because I said I socialise with mainly women and have very strong emotional bonds to my close friends. But that's not the same thing is it? Thus, I feel the questions are a bit limiting.

3 but I've always known I'm bisexual. I'm surprised and happy to see so many of us on the thread. I always felt a bit weird being in between gay / straight scenes. Am also married to a man now but had a decent no of lesbian relationships pre marriage.

0- but that’s what I expected.
I think women can be absolutely beautiful but I’ve never fantasied or wanted to do anything with a woman. Their is just no sexual feelings/interest there for me.
