Any dressmakers/tailors here? I have a question!

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this!

Basically I had my eye on a dress for a friends wedding last year. She’s now moved it to end of next year, and I still want the same dress- but it’s sold out! More fool me for not buying it.

I’ve found it on eBay, but it’s a 14 and I’m a 10. Does anyone know if a tailor will be able to adjust it down accordingly? I assume yes because it’s going down not up, but I don’t want to buy without knowing for sure! Will it be relatively easy do you think? Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

If you've got 18 months I would just put an eBay search for it and wait it out to see if a size closer to yours comes up for sale. You could also try Depop, Poshmark etc

Totally depends on the style of the dress. Some things lend themselves to simple resizing, others do not unfortunately!

Can you show us a pic?

Impossible to say without knowing the style..............it could end up costing you a fortune and not looking as you want.

Sorry, I posted and then went off to a hospital appointment!

That’s a good shout, I probably should wait and see if it comes up in a smaller size. Picture should be attached!
