I know it's only Monday but I'm excited about Eurovision on Saturday. What do you think would be the best takeaway to get? Any ideas about something Dutch? Ideas please

Something Italian as in most areas it's hard to get other types of European takeaways?

Lochnessgiraffe · 17/05/2021 15:08

I'm in quite a large town with lots of take aways. Italian is a good idea. Maybe Mediterranean? But I'd love something Dutch ish maybe get waffles for pudding

You need a range of European delights for Eurovision rather than a takeaway, imho.

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 17/05/2021 15:15

Btw - I have full custody of the TV this week and will be watching both semi finals in full without any huffing, puffing or eye rolling from DP Grin

MyFloorIsLava · 17/05/2021 15:17

I'm doing fajitas and margaritas 🍹

This. We're having a smorgasbord of nibbles from all around Europe except Italy!

lastqueenofscotland · 17/05/2021 15:25

We have an excellent Greek near us which would be my vote

AdaColeman · 17/05/2021 15:35

Go Dutch, deep fried meatballs, rollmop style herrings, smoked eel, cheeses! Wine Wine

Shame Russia has picked a new song. Last year's was brilliant. May as well award them the trophy for 2020.

(I'm a huge Little Big fan)

Lochnessgiraffe · 17/05/2021 16:17

Maybe a takeaway from more than one place then. We have deliveroo users eats and just eat so should be able to find some tasty food.

Bitterballen, french fries with Mayo, stroopwafel would be good snacks. A side order of weed maybe.

No! If we're awarding for 2020 then Italy get it!

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 17/05/2021 18:51

@Mysterian the rules are that the same sings cannot be entered again so everyone has had to pick a new song. Some countries, like Iceland and the UK, have kept the same artist for this year. Iceland would have won last year. Malta strong contenders this year.

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 17/05/2021 18:51

Songs not sings!

KTD27 · 17/05/2021 18:56

I have found my people! I’m SO excited for this week particularly as we didn’t get to enjoy last year. Another total little big fan here. Am a bit gutted they aren’t in it though the Russian song has grown on me. Hated it at first.
My money is on France or Italy to win so might theme my food round that. And margaritas because Saturday WineGrin

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 17/05/2021 18:59

Don't forget the semi finals - first one's tomorrow at 8pm, BBC4.

KTD27 · 17/05/2021 19:09

Semi final of death! I love love Australia but I fear she’s going nowhere with a taped recording.

LongLiveGoblingKing · 17/05/2021 19:11

Another Little Big fan here. It's a shame they aren't in it this year but they got what they needed out of it, they're much more well known now.

I am glad Dadi Og Gagnamanid is back for Iceland. The song isn't as good as last year's but it's still a bop.

Re food, get yourself to Lidl and Aldi and get as many different nationality snacks as you can find. French cheese, German sausage, baklava, olives etc.
