My eyeball hurts

Not the front part that you see, but the part that's in my head Confused It feels like there's a sore patch on my right eyeball. I can feel it when I move my eyes around, like it's rubbing on something back there. What can I do? Should I call someone if it carries on? GP? Specsavers? It's annoying, sore and it makes it difficult to look closely and concentrate on anything!

Phone your GP and they will probably arrange for you to either go to the ophthalmology department at your local hospital or go to a specialist at an opticians.

I had an eye issue during the first lockdown, when absolutely nothing was being done face to face, and the GP referred me to a specialist at a local opticians - the consultation was over the phone and I had to send photos via email.

Thanks, I'll do that then. It hurts a bit more today, and the white of my eye is all red on one side.

Definitely see an optician or if you have a local eye hospital a&e, go straight there.

Optometrist here. Just go to a local optician. If it’s sore and red it needs to be seen today.
