Moving back to UK

Hi, I'm having a bit of a panic. Myself and 13 year old daughter are moving back to the UK this summer. I've been overseas for over 20 years and my daughter has lived her whole life overseas. We'll be moving to Lancaster area, she's provisionally accepted into Lancaster Central. Is that a good school? Any tips on helping her with the transition, finding friends etc?
I was so caught up on doing the right thing for my daughter that I forgot all about me and now I'm panicking. I have no friends in the area and I don't know it at all. I have family in Garstang but that's all. I need to get a job, 20 years experience in customer service/travel overseas, before that in the pharmaceutical industry as a Biochemist. I'm just panicking a bit that I'll struggle to find work, friends etc and be very lonely. Can anyone reassure me, give me tips. Also best place to live, what the work opportunities are like in the area, I'm aware I may need to diversify to find something suitable.
