Vaccine

I’m booked to get my first vaccine soon (late 30s) and I know we are going to be offered an alternative to AstraZeneca. Will that happen on the day or will they just give me an a different one without mentioning it? I’m a worrier so if I have side effects like headache and fever I’ll be panicking I’ve got blood clots. I know I sound stupid, I want the vaccine but I don’t want a few weeks of worry afterwards.

They'll tell you which vaccine you are getting before they administer.

You're probably more at risk of an accident whilst getting to the centre than from blood clots anyway.

If you go into the health section here on mumsnet there is an entire section devoted to Covid, vaccination and concerns where you can get help and support

They’ll tell you on the day, and you’ll get a leaflet re side effects. And they’ll most likely tell you that if certain side effects eg headache continues for more than 4 days (for example) - contact your Gp.

Try not to worry re blood clots, it’s still a tiny risk.

you absolutely will be told which vaccine you are getting, that's called consent.

still far riskier to drive there than to get the jab.
