The past year has made us into a low energy family

Don’t get me wrong, we weren’t the type of family who packed lots of activities into a weekend but we did do at least one thing.
Now that we’re going out to school or work, we seem to barely move over the weekend, let alone plan anything out. And all those chores need to get done.
It’s all a bit boring. How do we change this?

Do you want to change it? I think a lot of people have realised how unsustainable their old lives were and are returning to a vastly pared back version.

How about aiming for a fun activity booked in advance (so you can't back out!) once a month initially?

Maybe start taking vitamin D. When mine was low, we were like this. Of course, it might not be that, but worth a try?

We are the same but I think this is mainly because there is nothing to do at the weekends!! We’re not walkers and me personally I’m bored to tests of traipsing round national trust properties. We used to do things like bowling, cinema, soft play, going out for meals. We will start doing these things again now they’re reopening but we definitely turned into a low energy house because to be honest there’s not really been much alternative!

Tears not tests!

Slowly - it takes time - book one thing in a fortnight to start?

And you might find you want more downtime than you realised you did pre lockdown

Same op, we are not walkers either!
I don't mind nt properties but not the same ones on repeat.

I've booked a different one for next week and a museum near by.

I think it’s still hard to do much with everything outside and weather being so rubbish; I’ve got something planned for the next few weekends with a hope of going back to our okd way of doing something on a Saturday and chilling out on a Sunday (aka doing the chores etc)

Winkywonkydonkey · 16/05/2021 10:51

Yes it's the lack of stuff to do plus weather meaning anything that IS possible is miserable. We used to have quite a few playdates so until people are less nervey about having kids over then that means a lot of our weekends are spent playing with DC so a lot of the house stuff gets shelved. Hoping the summer changes things.
