Has anyone made friends from online apps?

Lockdown has seriously highlighted how small my social circle is and I want to make an effort to expand it. I downloaded Vina thought there would be no one in my area but there’s actually quite a few women, just waiting to see if someone swipes back - it’s weird to be on a Tinder style app but for friends I don’t know how I feel about meeting someone physically from it, I would be so nervous! Has anyone got any success stories?

One from being on a TTC board together and another from a separate group we set up after meeting on here

Why don’t you join NextDoor as my one has people making friends and enjoying meet ups and hobbies etc.

I've made friends from Meetup but they are based round shared hobbies.

Have a look on Meetup for walking, book, craft groups (or whatever your hobbies are).

I've made a couple of friends from the Bumble friends section of the app. I've not heard of Vina.

Yes I have made a very good friend from mums net who I speak to via text most days and have gone away for weekends with. We have one booked in June in fact. A proper kindred spirit.
