So this weekend we are meant to be having a garden celebration for DM, about 25 people due to come. The weather is looking awful all week and due to rain all day on the actual day. We’re all feeling a bit miserable and the idea of being outside in the rain isn’t appealing. Thing is though DM has been really excited (bought a new frock and shoes, v unlike her) and we’ve already bought food and drink for it. She’s not really giving much in way of what she wants to do in light of weather.

Just don’t know what should do though. People are still up for up it as looking forward to see everyone but can’t help but think it’s going to be a bit of a miserable wash out. Urghhh I hate this weather 🙄

You’re better off looking out the window the day of than checking the forecast, they really don’t know this far out! But agree with everyone, get some gazebos and everyone can just bring layers. We had friends in the garden yesterday; all week it said rain all day and guess what? There was one short, light shower and it was sunny the rest of the time. The forecast was still saying it was raining as we basked in the sun! Go forth and enjoy your party! Especially if the guest of honour is looking forward to it, god knows we need something to be excited about at the moment.

Yep it’s definitely annoying. Plan for hot drinks, gazebos, blankets, maybe hot food rather than cold and it will prob be great! Borrow a log burner?

Honestly no one has the first clue what the weather will be like next weekend. The forecaster I follow will never ever predict more than 3 days ahead and even then it can change. We currently have a jet stream in the wrong place for the time of year but it can move

Am hoping today is the worst of it. It’s like November outside my window today.

If it helps we were forecast torrential rain all week for today

I went out yesterday and was not looking forward to it but we had a great time in camping chairs under blankets.

In the last hour it's been torrential rain, hail, winds and now thunder. Am hoping the worst is coming at start of the week... famous last words.

So here is weather tomorrow - DM is leaving final decision up to me. I don't know what to do. Guests still seem up for it but TBH DM seems quite sad about the whole thing now. The other problem we have at the moment is being able to put the gazebo up as too windy, although winds look less tomorrow evening.
