Or tempura prawns with a sweet chilli dip.

A tart? Goats cheese with red onion chutney?

Mini savoury goats’ cheesecakes with onion marmalade
Mini smoked salmon tartares (tart-I ? 😁)
Vietnamese spring rolls (raw)
Sticky sausages (nigella recipe)
Salty caramel mixed nuts: gone made takes minutes, so much better than bought
Parmesan crisps (dollop spoonfuls of Parmesan on baking tray and hot-oven for 5 or 6 minutes)
Cheddar (or Parmesan) shortbread rounds

How many are you catering for? Will you have help, or all on yourself? Is there an oven available? Do they need to be canapes only, or small morsels of food?

Pending the above:

  • Frittata cut into cubes and served with a fancy toothpick
  • Quiche slices
  • Chicken drumsticks with foil or napkin wrapped around the bone
  • Vietnamese summer rolls
  • Sushi (easier to make than you might think)
  • Instead of shop bought vol-u-vents, you can make similar with bread. Cut crusts off, use a large circle biscuit cutter, lightly roll the bread a little flatter. Brush with melted butter and bake till crisp inside a cupcake cake tin. Can be used for any filling a vol-u-vent uses and can be stored for a few days in an airtight container.

The plan is to have a small family party later this summer in self catered accommodation so ideally shop bought canape recommendations please, doesn't have to be canapes I guess, other party food also welcome :)

M&S do nice catering trays, also iceland and costco do various ones which usually just need defrosting.
