Fucking zips

choosername1234 · 15/05/2021 11:17

I consider myself to be a competent & independent woman - married, mortgage, 2 kids, responsible professional job.
But I cannot work zips

Zips on coats, baby sleeping bags, buggy footmuff, any fucking zip I try to zip just jams, every sodding time. I have to get my husband (or my 8yr old) to unjam them for me.

Is it just me? Am I missing the vital zip working gene? Or am I just crap in the zip department ?

I'm with you, @choosername1234 - I get zips stuck all the damn time and have to get DH to come and gently tease them free for me. It doesn't matter if I go slowly or take great care, it still happens ALL THE TIME Hmm

Top zip tip:

If they get sticky or stuck then rub something greasy on them like oil or even a wax crayon 🖍️

Run a pencil up and down the closed zip a few times - turns to powdered graphite which is what one uses to oil locks.
