Shared ownership or help to buy?

We are desperate to get on the property ladder, renting for years.

I understand the above schemes are different, I just wanted to hear from personal experiences, people who have done either.

We have 25k deposit, and just shy of 50k income, we are sort of trapped in the area we are in due to school and jobs

Honestly there are so few legal protections with shared ownership. I didn't realise and unfortunately am stuck in a s/o property atm. This is the best article I have seen to explain.

My friend was shared ownership and after years in the property sold it and ended up with very little.

Help to buy might be a little better but what I would say is try not to invest too much money in it or staircase as quickly as you can.
