Centralish as we have an appointment in the City
Suitable for a vegetarian and 1 gluten free person
Fancy but not second mortgage territory so maybe 200 pounds for 3 course plus drinks.
We like most food types prefer something unusual or different.
Not stuffy, we won't be dressed up.

Vanilla Black near Lincoln's Inn.

I had a sea vegetable meal there - all three courses. It was one of the best meals I have ever had. I think they try extra hard because of the reputation that vegan food has generally. It is a while since I have eaten there though - hope it is open.

DH recommendS Vanilla Black (he raves about it, I haven't been)

I like Dishoom or Ottolenghi.

MyOctopusFeature · 15/05/2021 09:19

Oh no, I think it is shut. Looks like they are doing online courses and webinars only. Shame.

Brigadiers, Coya, Brat are all nice options and close to the City.

Galvins at Windows. Good food and fantastic views near Mayfair.

GrumpyHoonMain · 15/05/2021 09:31

I love Dishoom. We do breakfast and dinner there when in London.

WaterBottle123 · 15/05/2021 09:33

Dishoom I love, DP has never been so definitely an option

What about Mildreds in Soho - I confess I haven't been but it's been recommended to me.

bendmeoverbackwards · 15/05/2021 10:17

Sushi Samba

Neonprint · 15/05/2021 10:19

Is that your budget for 2 people? I'm not clear how many people are in your party

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/05/2021 10:37

The Wolseley or Brasserie Zedel - neither are stunningly good food, but the buildings are fabulous and they are buzzy and fun.

Or Dishoom or the German Gymnasium at Kings Cross.

WaterBottle123 · 15/05/2021 11:27

@Neonprint sorry yes, 2 ppl

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, am checking them out

Gymkhana could be an option?

Hix is nice for cocktails but haven't been to the restaurant

Ivy city garden, gorgeous inside and lovely menu. Sure they cater for dietary requirements
