Making friends at 33?

Ive moved to a new area. Feeling very lonely. Bf has lots of friends locally.

It has made me realise that the friends i do have, i wouldn't just message them randomly. For example, bf came home and really pissed me off. I want someone to talk to about it. I'd love a really close friend or couple of friends.

Of similar age, interests etc, there are nice mums at school but they are not really my people.

How do you make friends at this age? Apart from the obvious, school, work, etc.

A really close friend that you can ring at any time and have a moan to is a relationship that develops over time, and usually shared experiences.
I'm not sure there is a way of bypassing that process, as it is that which gives you the bond.

Why are you dismissing "the obvious" ways of meeting people ? They would tend to be "obvious" due to the fact that that is how most people do meet new friends.

Are you counting as obvious, your bf's friends, and their partners ?
