Check your home office chair!

Posting this partly to wallow in self pity but also to prevent anyone being as daft as me 🤦‍♀️.

I was on a teams call at work yesterday evening and I suddenly fell over and landed hard on the floor. My (cheap-y) home office chair had collapsed - it has one of those gas powered single legs that had snapped right off the seat. I've no idea what my colleagues heard - but thank F@&€ I didn't have video turned on - which we often do 😳😳😳 - can you imagine.

Anyway I was in agony so went to injury clinic - I've damaged my shoulder so will need an MRI. And I've loads of bruises. On painkillers so not too sore now but I woke up an hour ago and can't go back to sleep.

The awful coincidence is that I handed in my notice yesterday which was a whole other drama so I don't want to tell my boss. I hope this isn't some karma thing that I shouldn't be leaving the job 😐.

It's not just that I'm sore, but I'm very upset with myself cos I've put on a load of weight during lockdown which I'm sure didn't help. And the chair has been creaking for ages and I ignored it.

So if you're working from home please check your chair is ok. And if anyone has similarly embarrassing stories that make me feel less of an eejit I would greatly appreciate them 😬.

Hope you are OK.

Literally just posted this on the mid life crisis thread, but it might cheer you up?

I bought since roller blades so that I could whizz along cycle paths living my best life. They arrived last Thursday, I broke my wrist on them on Friday, had surgery to put a plate in on Monday and am looking at 6 months recuperation!

So I totally sympathise with the pain and unexpected bullshit of having to be treated etc, but with the added fun of having to tell people how I did it and then watch them go 'ooohhh' as they try and arrange their faces into a suitable expression!!

Thank you both but OMG @DysmalRadius that sounds horrendous Thanks. Funnily enough roller skating has been on my midlife bucket list Confused. It sounds very painful I hope you are recuperating ok.
