Why do so many men not wash their hands after urinating?

DH never does, and I cringe when he comes out of the loo and immediately makes tea, taking teabags out of the container with his unwashed hand!! Ugh.

I've noticed it before, but this week I have had workmen in the house. I put out a fresh clean towel in the bathroom with new soap and a box of tissues. None of them even touched even though they were in there multiple times! Why do men do this - I couldn't imagine not washing my hands after visiting the loo!

Because, like Churchill, I was taught not to piss on my fingers.

Kittyninja · 13/05/2021 18:32

Or not washing when they put their hands down their pants to 'alter' their bits!!!

JustKeep · 13/05/2021 18:47

But they’ve only touched their penis - it’s not dirty. They won’t have any pee on them or anything.

Come on !

I don’t piss on my fingers or even get my fingers wet when I wipe but I still clean my hands because I’m not a disgusting human. Your genitals are in a confined, warm and sometimes damp area for most the day, prime breeding ground for bacteria without being close to the anus or having a urethra. Particulates travel.

Besides all that it’s a good idea to wash your hands at regular intervals anyway and surely the bathroom is just an opportunity to do this?

It’s no wonder the government had to tell us how to wash our hands properly, Christ.

I think the issue is almost more about not washing your hands after flushing the loo - the handle probably has more germs on it.

Howzaboutye · 13/05/2021 19:06

Disgusting. Unacceptable not to wash hands after using the loo

Yuck. Of course they need to wash if they’ve had their hands on their bits. Anything else is foul.
Mulletsaremisunderstood · 13/05/2021 19:21

Gross. It honestly disgusts me. And to the person saying they don't pee on their hands, women don't even directly touch their bits, but manage to wash their hands after.

If someone was serving you food in a restaurant, would you like to know they had just touched their genitals right beforehand? Most people would probably complain that it's unsanitary.

OP, I'm like you - I wouldn't want him touching my cup or making me tea.

Since when do women get wee on them when they go for one ?!

Very very rarely see a man who doesn’t wash his hands after using the toilet. Just because your husband is dirty it doesn’t mean we all are.
