Unbearable itchy throat (hay fever)

Someone please help! Hay fever for most of my life and I can usually manage symptoms but my throat this year is absolutely unbearable. I’m pregnant so can’t take antihistamines (I don’t think, I’m seeing mw next week)

It’s that half in the ear, half in the throat unreachable itch. I can itch a little with sticking something in my ear (which obviously isn’t great) I can sort of itch it sticking my hand in my throat and scratching my tonsils but that’s gross and sore. I need some relief!

Sometimes a teaspoon of honey gives me some relief for a while I think it coats my throat maybe.

Have a look up of oral allergy syndrome. In this country the allergens are often linked to birch pollen which is bad this year.
When i eat my trigger food I get the same crazy itch in my throat and ears.
You just need to work out which foods are triggers for you. Stone fruits really bother me along with cherries and raw carrots

I have severe allergies and was advised to take loratadine through both my pregnancies so the midwife will advise you to take something. Hot water with honey should help in the meantime, local if you can get it.

Thank you. Ive never had much luck with local honey for hay fever but will give it another try. Had some relief with an ice lolly Grin
