Will Paypal resolve this for me?

I stupidly bought some headphones online and when they arrived, not only were they no the colour I had ordered but they were fake Sad

Opened a dispute with Paypal's resolution centre and apparently I would get a refund once I returned the item (to China!).

Paypal have refunded me the return postage in the meantime.

I have just checked tracking on Royal Mail and it says delivery was attempted today but recipient refused the package and it is now being returned to sender!

WTF happens now? Anyone know, I am worried.

PayPal support are generally quite good. Can you email them for help and explain?

Screenshot everything, keep it all and send to PayPal. Be persistent.

I'm going to call tomorrow, their offices are closed now. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced similar?

Have you looked at TrustPilot for reviews of the site where you bought it?

There are a lot of scammy sites that sell fake/poor quality goods or send incorrect items from China then make it impossible to return the goods - the address doesn't exist or the goods are refused. PayPal then won't refund the money because the item hasn't been returned.

Hopefully that isn't the case here.

I can't seem to find the original website which is very worrying. Can't believe I've fallen for a scam! I do have the postal address that the seller informed me of by email. And an email to say I would be refunded when they received the item back.

I assume they refused to accept the parcel to be difficult!

Sorry, it is sounding like a scam if the website has disappeared. It's a pretty common scam, there is a lot about it on the PayPal community boards. It's a clever scam though because they exploit you thinking you have protection from PayPal.

Your best bet is a chargeback on the card you used (assuming you used a card, even though it was via PayPal).

I speak from bitter experience, one of my DC got caught out by the same scam.

Thanks, I’m such an idiot.

Update - Paypal have been great - they said as long as I did tracked return, that's good enough and they will refund me. Now I have a pair of fake headphones winging their way back to me!
