Broken washing machine

I was hoping someone with a bit more technical knowledge than me could give me their opinion!
I've had to rent out my DGran's flat for now and the tenant has complained that the washing machine is broken. In the photo below, it looks quite badly damaged to me. Can anyone tell me what they think has happened here? Thank you ever so much!

Can't be sure from the photo. Is it just that the door seal has come away?

Replacing the seal yourself is easy and about 20 quid...

It's the door seal. It happened to my washing machine when I washed a machine washable rug in it. It was at the wrong angle and pulled the seal out.

That's the only photo I've been sent so far. It just looks to me like the door seal is torn and I don't know how that's happened or if that would be the reason why it's not working. Does anyone have any idea?

Looks like the seals been pulled. Could be any reason, once did a big washing load and it pulled my seal. Similar to others my mother washed a rug and this happened. Should be a cheap fix

if the suspension strut fails the drum drops and rips the seal .
