How to get through the working day when you hate it

I've decided I have to leave my job. I dread every morning and I can't go on like this. My role has changed after a restructure and it's nothing like it was.

Has anyone got any tips to get through each day without crying or having a breakdown until I can get another job? I could leave before but I'd rather get something else lined up if I can.

Thank you

Put together your strategy for leaving and make a list of your achievements, what skills you've learned and developed and figure out if there's anything else you can work on as you look for another job. Having something to look forward to and feeling you are taking positive steps can make a big difference.

Consider taking some time off too.

You’ve done the hardest bit and decided to go. Whatever happens now, you know that it’s one of the last times you have to deal with it. Every time you have to deal with something horrible, you take a deep breath and remind yourself that you’re a day closer to escaping.

I had a job like this years ago so I completely sympathise. However, unless your MH really can’t take it, I would recommend holding on until you can find something new. Even if it means temping for a bit until the right thing comes along. You’ll feel so amazing on that last day and even during your notice period, I know I did. Good luck 🤞
