Chest infection. GP or don't bother?

Wheezy, sats 93 at night, exhausted, cough, aching , shortness of breath, temperature but negative covid test. I'm not sure if I should see a GP or they will just tell me to rest at home. Viral probably. Day 2 off sick. How long should I be off? I'm a teacher so can't take it easy at work. But feel so guilty. Just walking around at home for a but makes me shattered and I've been in bed most of the time. Opinions please.

You sound like you need to call a gp if you are that breathless and your sats are dropping that low

Fizzgigg · 11/05/2021 11:07

I'd have it checked out if you're very short of breath. I had a similar chest infection that I ignored and turned into pneumonia so I guess I'm scarred by that experience but I'd call GP if I were you.

I'd try and speak to a GP - you might need antibiotics if it is a chest infection.

GP. They should be able to give you something

idontlikealdi · 11/05/2021 11:07

Yes contact the GP if you're that ill.

You need to see a doctor (from a doctor!)

You don’t know it’s viral, it cousin be bacterial and need antibiotics to clear it. Don’t leave it

Oly4 · 11/05/2021 11:10

It could

Topseyt · 11/05/2021 11:11

Yes, you need the GP. Face to face if possible so that they can listen to your chest.

Hope you can get an appointment and the right treatment.

Jongleurterre · 11/05/2021 11:11

It could turn to pneumonia so do get checked out.
