Fkin bunk beds

I hate them!

I just almost knocked myself out smacking my head off the top bunk while trying to reach over and get something off the bottom bunk. My teeth banged together and I probably said every swear word known to man.

Yes and trying to change the sheets is a fucking nightmare!

Yes!! You don't realise how unfit and fat you are until you climb on to the top bunk to put fresh sheets on!!

I hate them with a passion! But unfortunately they're the only option for the tiny room the kids share.

My eldest seems to hoard things on the top bunk, I have to go up every couple of days and muck it out. I hate bunk beds but I was overruled by DC and DH - funny how they aren't the ones who change the bedding and keep them sanitary!

Yes my eldest is the same. He seems to hoard clothes up there on the top bunk. This morning though I was trying to reach under the top bunk to the windowsill and I totally misjudged the top bunk being above my head.
I've been looking for bunk bed alternatives but there doesn't seem to be anything that would fit in the room.

In our wisdom, we have purchased our daughter a double loft bed.
On the plus side, her room basically has two floors... Her double bed for reading, lazing around and sleeping, and then at ground level she has desk, book case and an expedit unit for that stuff preteens own. Plus the room has a built in wardrobe.

On the downside... It's a two person job to change the sheet and no one but her knows what's up there.

But it's a good use of a small room. And the double means her sister can share when guests are staying, and theres more usable space than a new build 4bed house...
