.... where do you buy your socks from?

I’m a size 8 and I want bog standard cotton ankle socks. They don’t need to be silky or snuggly or in any way fancy, just large enough to fit my feet.

I’ve tried men’s but they come up too high- men’s ankle socks don’t seem to be a thing. (I find men’s trainer socks good though.)

I’m fed up of buying socks that say “4-8” or something equally unrealistic, that end up with holes in from my big hooves!!

Please help me, fellow Bigfoots 😂

I sympathise, having this problem myself. Why do men's socks come in three sizes but we have to make do with one size fits all?
I would love to know the answer on this one.

I'm a size 8/9 depending on the shop. The best socks I've found have been from TK Maxx, with a waffle top so they don't mark my calves. I can't remember the name of the brand though so that's probably not much help...

TKMaxx for me as well. I buy men's stripey bamboo socks.

Keeping an eye on this thread as I have this issue too. The bog standard plain black type socks all seem to be ok- I have tons of these from marks - but it’s the patterned ones that are a liability. I have a few nice bamboo ones from moshulu but I have to restretch them each time before wearing.
I thought I was onto a win when I bought some nice christmassy men’s larger size ones in white stuff in the sales one year. But even though the foot bit fitted fine, the calf was too tight - the overall fit felt wrong, like they were designed for non-curvy man legs. I was v annoyed and had to give them to DH.

Size 9 and in the winter I just wear DH's M&S mens black socks. I've given up thinking there will be nice patterned socks in my life!

The TKMaxx waffletop ones are Sock Shop, I buy them for DH, but they aren't really ankle socks, in the way that women's socks are ankle socks.
I'm an 8. The women's ankle socks I have most success with are Calvin Klein, though I buy them from TKMaxx. I have various ones, but my favourites are roll top bamboo ones.
I have so many other lovely socks, that pinch my toes horribly especially when they've been through the wash once.
