A bit of urgent advice needed

I have my jab booked early eve today. I have woken up with a migraine (due my period today and I really suffer with my period).

Would it be sensible or foolish to postpone it? I'm mid 40's.

I think I'll ring the non urgent number - but wondered if any professionals on her can advise?

Want to cancel sooner than later to enable the slot to go to someone else.

Thanks

Meant to say I suffer with migraines and terrible pain for the first few days of my period too - just not sure if I want to add to it.

Is it your 1st or 2nd vaccination?

I had my 2nd on Tuesday when my period was due, it’s messed around with my period a little but it didn’t effect me in any other way.

I think you should just go and get it done, stock up on paracetamol and drink plenty of water.

permaconfused · 08/05/2021 09:19

It's my 1st. I'm feeling really low as well as have a few rubbish things going on at home but don't know if it's just me being sensible or panicky.

Honestly I'd take whatever medication you can take to make you feel a little better and go for the jab.

Bairnsmum05 · 08/05/2021 09:22

Exact same situation here. I'm going, got lots of paracetamol in the house and going to just crack on.

DamSky · 08/05/2021 09:23

I would go and go straight to bed when you get back

Lovemusic33 · 08/05/2021 09:34

I would just go, your going to feel rubbish anyway because of your period, at least you will get both things over in one hit rather than having a few days feeling ill because of your period and then having the vaccine and feeling ill for another few days. I was unwell with my 1st, I had it in my birthday and when I was on my period, I just spent a few days on the sofa feeling sorry for myself but recovered quickly.

I’m a Covid vaccinator and I’d give it to you. This is normal for you.

Willdoitlater · 08/05/2021 09:46

I missed my second jab on thursday because i had a virus. None of the three covid symptoms but i didnt feel right about putting others at risk. Although risk was minimal. Very next day i was better. I've been crying ever since because i really wanted that jab. No idea when i get another appointment. My point is, don't underestimate how bad you will might feel if you don't have it.

Thank you all, I'm going to go.

Good call.

permaconfused · 08/05/2021 19:26

Well I've had it, feel like rubbish as I've come on but glad I went.

Thanks again.

Great news. I feel fine, was anticipating side effects this morning but nothing yet!

KinseyWinsey · 09/05/2021 16:31

I was same last week. Got my period on same day as jab. Felt hideous the next day and for three days. Hard to tell what was causing what!

Only just feeling okay now five days later.

I'm happy I got my first jab though.

itsgettingwierd · 09/05/2021 16:37

Glad you had it.

I suppose you could look at the silver lining that instead of period crap feeling following by post jab feeling you'll only have the crap feeling once - even if magnified?

Bath, bed and snacks with painkillers.
