Mystery CD

I received a package yesterday through the post. Wasn’t expecting anything apart from my usual contact lens delivery so opened it with surprise. Pulled out a CD of London Grammer’s new album Californian Soil. Nothing else in the envelope. Checked address on front of envelope, definitely my name, (preferred name that is, as a pose to my formal first name) & correct address. I haven’t ordered this CD, I’ve not heard of the band even.

I’m really puzzled. No-one has texted me to tell me they’ve ordered anything, my relatives wouldn’t do that, the only person I could think of was an old colleague of mine at work. He was my supervisor for a number of years & knows me well. I asked him (& said I knew it sounded crazy!) but did he send me a London Grammar CD? He said “Not I. Got a secret admirer have ya?” So I felt embarrassed for asking of course. I just replied that it was odd, & he just texted back “Have you been on a date?” To which the answer was no! Left it at that, as was very embarrassed by this point. So that’s him ruled out. Family ruled out (they’re not very clued up on new music!) & my small circle of friends wouldn’t do something like that.

Just very very strange. Do you think somehow they put the wrong address on the envelope & it was meant to go to another address? But they wouldn’t know my address in the first place?? Or I thought maybe it’s a promotional thing, but literally nothing else in the envelope, no advertising, nothing. Just a small printed return address to a warehouse in Coventry.

I am just totally flummoxed
