Astrazeneca jab and Lithium

I'm having my second AZ jab tomorrow and also have to restart Lithium.

I'm really worried that beginning Lithium at the same time as the AZ jab will cause problems and make blood clots more likely.

I know this may seem ridiculous, but anxiety has made my MH worse which is why I've been told to restart it.

I think you should ask your prescribing doctor about this, OP. They’ll know best about the finer details of your medication with the AZ. Sorry you’re finding it extra tough. 💐

Thanks, they seem to think it's not an issue, but I feel so unsure about having it, I don't know if I trust them.

I wondered if anyone knew whether Lithium made your more likely to have blood clots.

I'm on Lithium and have had my jab with no issues. I did mention it when I had it and they said there should be no more risk and to take the same precautions anyone else would Smile

It was. But of a sore arm and feverish but nothing major afterwards. Just keep hydrated as per usual with Lithium and you'll be fine Daffodil
