Anyone stayed in hotel recently (or works at one)

I know this will sound bad but I was hoping to book a day to stay at a hotel. Seems the current rules are only for business trips

I have an online psychiatrist appointment (thanks to covid - they’re not seeing any patients face to face), and don’t feel comfortable speaking openly at home where others may over hear about very private issues.

I know Airbnb is open for leisure but I only need to stay in a room for 3 hours max really (hotels offer half day stays via dayuse website but don’t think Airbnb offers this so will have to pay double)

Would it be too risky to book a hotel via dayuse? I’m not a key worker.

Although I remember whilst eating out during the earlier lockdown, often asked if I was from the same household as my table but never had to provide proof

I booked one for a weekend and when they asked I said I was house hunting in the area. No issues.

^ to clarify, I wasn’t house hunting. I don’t think they really care, it’s just something they have to ask.

I stayed in a hotel recently for a funeral
The hotel did ask but didn’t ask for proof

Thanks all, that’s helpful to know.

Turns out “needs to attend a medical appointment” is on the gov list too so hopefully will be fine
